Default Pug R3 or Buy it?

Hey, Quick question
Which is the better option?

Buy the rest to rank 3 and pug with some half competant people, and get more out of the weekend,(easier to find groups)
or
Pug it on on the next weekend and hope to get rank 3,but the next weekend could be a month or so.

I've tried the guild route, but the only guilds that were recruiting non-ranked players were very unorganised and new (I know everyone starts somwhere but its a bit of a nightmare)

I'm not after it for the emote, I Hate the bambi and the people that use it as its very common.I'm after R3 so i can find some groups. I'm only 60 fame off so i've most of it done already-.- i jsut dont want to spend 8+ hours getting to rank 3 in pugs.

you're talking about HA rank, right?

if you have patience - do it normal way
if you have too much cash - buy it

really up to you how fast you want it

I'd say just wait till double weekend and spend afew hours with a PUG and get it.

If you dont want to wait just buy it though.

Buy it.
However don't go with R10+ teams, they'll charge you for fame and that's about it. If you can get a R6 to famefarm there's some chance (if you do good and talk and don't mess up shyte) that you might get into their guild or at least put them on you Flist.

PuG's will only drive you into misery and make you giveup.
The most experience I gained was playing with (can't name 'em) R10+. Sure there was a "can I suck your little pinky on your right foot mister pls?" monk totally trashtalked me but the leader was a nice chap - respect hero who everybody hated .

The alternative is making your own group R4+++++++ of course. Just don't get punk'd cause there's always some "suck-your-pinky" dude in HA who will compensate his other short iRL issues with your lie-my-rank-4+++ by bitchtalking.

(not to pinky-suckers: i'm not R3 and didn't buy any fame, missing 11 fame)

Sounds like you'd rather buy it to me. That would get it faster probably anyway.

Anyhow, whatever you decide - trying to play it normally which may take longer, or use up that extra moola that's burning a hole in your pocket and buy it (which is pretty much a service like anything else, so go for it if you want).

Why do you want R3?

if its for epeen of spamming bambi every 30 seconds, then you need to rethink.. Bambi is nothing, nobody respects it except people who only dream of winning in random arenas.

if its because you want to get into groups in HA, rethink again. Although rank doesn't directly show skill, it shows experience. Experience is what you need to win, otherwise buying rank 3 and joining a team with no builds, no strategy and no knowledge of the maps is just asking for people to flame you.

Other reasons?

R3 is easy to get imo, try to avoid lameways.. It may be tempting to join them as it does take time to get a party in HA. As already stated, build up a nice friends list. If you ever see a party or get into one with skilled players then add them

Sometimes people want the little blue tickbox, you know. GWAMM is pretty much the same thing, for a little blue tickbox.

Yeah well so are alot of pugs, last double fame weekend spent around 10~ hours, gained like 130 fame. and the majority was from one guy that knew how to play, (randomly landed in his party over the days).

so if paying a bit saves me hours of waiting, restarts and leavers it may be somthing to consider.

Yeah but playing the first 3 levels over and over with eoe bomb or heroway (I know you said to stay away from them)won't really further ones knowledge either, at least with fame farming one could progress past those levels and get a sense of how exp. players do it.

I really don't care about r3 hero, don't find it worth much tbh and the emote is so common, seen too many people spam it,thinking it means somthing.
I just want to get into the next bracket where its possible to find groups(bar randomway) at some time of the day except double fame weekends.

Rank in general is pathetic.

Especially when you only want a rank for the emote (seeing how you want to get to rank 3, I assume you just want it the same as a lot of others, to /rank people in PvE like a nerd).

heh, Rhamia - that's actually the only thing I could come up to politely ask that monk. I always wondered what would he respond if I did ask.
I'm sure if you somehow manage to get into a R10++++ "all day parked in HA" team there is a 99% chance one of them will be that suck-your-pinky guy. Provided that you are not R10++++.
